The following projects were conceived as grass routes sustainability ventures for two rural Malaysian communities. Access to electricity, skilled labour and building materials were very limited thus both building have been designed and detailed with a focus on resources, labour and traditional crafts available on the ground. Both building envelopes are primarily constructed of bamboo weave due to the materials ability to provide cooling and in an effort to provide local employment and revitalise an otherwise dying trade.
